Volunteer Code of Conduct

As a volunteer with Team Amit Kalwar, you represent our movement for positive change in Borkhola. This Code of Conduct outlines the standards of behaviour expected from every volunteer to ensure a safe, respectful, and effective campaign environment.
1Respect & Dignity
- Treat all individuals — fellow volunteers, supporters, opponents, and members of the public — with respect and dignity regardless of their caste, religion, gender, language, or political affiliation.
- Refrain from using abusive, offensive, or discriminatory language in any form — verbal, written, or digital.
- Listen actively and engage in constructive dialogue, even when there are disagreements.
2Lawful Conduct
- Comply with all applicable laws, including the Representation of the People Act and the Election Commission of India guidelines.
- Do not engage in any form of bribery, voter intimidation, booth capturing, or any activity that undermines the democratic process.
- Respect all election rules regarding campaign timings, noise regulations, and restricted zones.
3Integrity & Honesty
- Share only verified and truthful information about Dr. Amit Kalwar, the campaign, and its policies.
- Do not spread misinformation, fake news, or misleading content about any individual or party.
- Report any unethical behaviour or violations of this code to the campaign coordinators immediately.
4Social Media Responsibility
- When posting on social media as a campaign volunteer, maintain a professional and positive tone.
- Do not engage in online trolling, hate speech, or personal attacks against opponents or critics.
- Use only official campaign materials, hashtags, and messaging approved by the communications team.
- Clearly distinguish personal opinions from official campaign positions.
5Confidentiality
- Keep all campaign strategies, internal communications, and voter data strictly confidential.
- Do not share personal information of supporters, volunteers, or team members with unauthorised parties.
- Handle all data in compliance with applicable data protection norms.
6Safety & Non-Violence
- Violence, threats, or intimidation of any kind are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate removal.
- Prioritise personal safety and the safety of others during all campaign activities.
- Report any safety concerns or incidents to coordinators without delay.
7Teamwork & Accountability
- Follow instructions from campaign coordinators and team leads.
- Be punctual and committed to assigned tasks and responsibilities.
- Communicate proactively if you are unable to fulfil a commitment.
- Work collaboratively and support fellow volunteers in achieving campaign goals.
8Community Engagement
- Represent the campaign with professionalism when interacting with the public.
- Be approachable, courteous, and willing to listen to community concerns.
- Respect private property and public spaces during door-to-door campaigns and events.
warningViolations & Consequences
Any violation of this Code of Conduct may result in a verbal warning, suspension from campaign activities, or permanent removal from the volunteer team, depending on the severity of the violation. The campaign leadership reserves the right to make final decisions regarding disciplinary actions.
