Born into a humble agricultural family in the heart of Borkhola, Amit witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by rural communities. The lack of accessible healthcare in his village became the defining motivation for his life's path. He often recalls walking miles to the nearest school, a memory that fuels his drive to improve local infrastructure today.
After completing his MD, Dr. Kalwar turned down lucrative offers in metro cities to return home. For over 15 years, he has organized free medical camps, served in local government hospitals, and been a first responder during the devastating floods that often hit the region. His clinic has always been open to those who cannot afford care, earning him the affectionate title of "People's Doctor."
